"Look, shiny thing!... oh, crap."

The Obama White House had a problem. The Veterans Administration scandal threatened to upset their grand plan for Socialized Medicine in the USA, Obamacare.

Coincidentally, as if from Heaven, came a gift: Trade one American Hero for five Taliban terrorists in Guantanamo Bay prisoner of war camp. No brainer, right? Lets do it, get that nasty ol' scandal off the front page!

Result?

Gold Star mom: 'This guy was worth my son's life?'

Sondra Andrews' son, 2nd Lt. Darryn Andrews, is one of six soldiers killed reportedly while searching for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

The sergeant's return to captivity has stirred "very raw emotions."

"It gets really hurtful when I think, this guy was worth my son's life? My son who was patriotic? Who was a true soldier? Who defended his country with his life?" Andrews told Army Times via phone on Monday. "That guy was worth that? I don't think so."

Andrews also was upset to hear the U.S. government agreed to release five prisoners from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for Bergdahl's freedom.

"I bet you anything there were soldiers killed or wounded capturing those five guys," she said. "So what does that do for their sacrifice? They sacrificed for nothing, because they turned right around and let them go."

And this beauty here:

You know, I've said it before, Barack Obama is really the president Richard Nixon always wanted to be. You know, he's been allowed to act unilaterally in a way that we've fought for decades.

Personally I think that's grossly unfair to Richard Nixon, but for the sake of argument we'll let it slide.

In other news, Jay Carney the White House Spokesman pulled his ripcord on May 30th, just a day or two day before this Bergdahl thing hit. I don't read minds and I have no insider info, but I think I can infer his motivation given the towering shitstorm that's building up in the media right now. Mr. Carney may have reproduction Communist propaganda hanging in his house, but he's not crazy.

Obama could have successfully, and with some legitimate justification, blamed the VA scandal on the pre-existing culture of corruption there. But this Bergdahl thing is 100% All Barry, All The Time. He -personally- created this prisoner swap and ramrodded it to completion over the shrieks of "DON"T DO IT!!!" from the military, the spooks, and apparently his own propaganda apparatus. He arranged to get rid of a scandal about government screwing over the military... by screwing over the military. Genius!

I predict in the days ahead, Barry will look back fondly on the VA scandal as the Good Ol' Days.
