I'm not a lawyer, but off hand I'd say a bill for contraceptives in excess of a thousand bucks a year puts paid to the idea that any imputation of "a want of chastity" would be either false or malicious. More like a bald statement of recorded fact. Call me crazy, but that's my take.In a letter dated March 8, Allred, writing on behalf of the Women's Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund, requested that Palm Beach County State Attorney Michael McAuliffe probe whether the conservative radio personality had violated Section 836.04 of the Florida Statutes by calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke the two derogatory words.
The statute stipulates that anyone who "speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity" is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. Allred explained that the statute recently came to her attention as having never been repealed, and that it could very well apply to Limbaugh's remarks as his show is broadcast from West Palm Beach.
However I must say that its real nice of ol' Gloria there to come out and give this piece of free legal help to poor little Sandra Fluke, unasked for.
Allred, whose most recent high-profile clients have included Sharon Bialek, who accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment, and porn star Ginger Lee, who exchanged explicit emails with former Rep. Anthony Weiner, said Friday that she has not yet been in touch with Fluke.
"I don't reach out to women, they reach out to me," she said. "If she did reach out to me, obviously I would respond."
While on the subject, I think Limbaugh was right the first time about Ms. Fluke. A thousand bucks worth of contraception adds up to three times a day, three sixty five days a year, or some serious weekends, and no one guy is going to measure up to that kind of load, long term. Which kind of -defines- the term "slut". Unless she was LYING about the $1k per year for safes, in which case he was merely misled. In which case, isn't there some law against lying to the Senate? Just sayin'.
Either way he's wrong for apologizing to this objectionable apparatchik Fluke, and all the pussy advertisers who jumped ship from his show are going to see their reward for cowardice in next quarter's sales figures.
Increasingly these days being a Conservative in public discourse means high sticking and throwing your gloves on the ice, not chasing the puck. Never mind the game, just pound on the sons of b!tches and leave 'em leaking.
