SJWs double down, then backpedal hard!
The College Republicans at the UC Irvine are claiming victory, following the reversal of a decision by administrators to suspend them for a year. "It's a huge victory for freedom of speech and assembly, and I think this move proves that there is bias to political ideologies in this administration," said Ariana Rowlands, President of the UCI College Republicans.
The disciplinary action was imposed after a June 2nd event hosting the controversial right wing speaker Milo Yiannopoulos. He visited the students as part of his "Dangerous Faggot Tour." The administration based the action on a contractual insurance violation at the event. However, the University changed course following a social media firestorm and national petition supporting the students. First administrators temporarily lifted the ban pending an appeal, and now have permanently lifted the suspension and cancelled the appeals process.

Spawn of P.E.T. gets cover of Marvel comic.
Make way, Liberal cabinet: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will have another all-Canadian crew in his corner as he suits up for his latest feature role — comic book character.Trudeau will grace the variant cover of issue No. 5 of Marvel's "Civil War II: Choosing Sides," due out Aug. 31.
Trudeau is depicted smiling, sitting relaxed in the boxing ring sporting a Maple Leaf-emblazoned tank, black shorts and red boxing gloves. Standing behind him are Puck, Sasquatch and Aurora, who are members of Canadian superhero squad Alpha Flight. In the left corner, Iron Man is seen with his arms crossed.
"I didn't want to do a stuffy cover — just like a suit and tie — put his likeness on the cover and call it a day," said award-winning Toronto-based cartoonist Ramon Perez.
"I wanted to kind of evoke a little bit of what's different about him than other people in power right now. You don't see (U.S. President Barack) Obama strutting around in boxing gear, doing push-ups in commercials or whatnot. Just throwing him in his gear and making him almost like an everyday person was kind of fun."
The variant cover featuring Trudeau will be an alternative to the main cover in circulation showcasing Aurora, Puck, Sasquatch and Nick Fury.
Al Qada getting media savvy.
Lone wolf jihadists should target white Americans so no one mistakes their terror attacks for hate crimes unrelated to the cause of radical Islam, Al Qaeda writes in the latest edition of its online magazine.
In an article first reported by The Foreign Desk, Al Qaeda of the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) called for more self-directed Muslim terrorists to kill in America. But the article, titled "Inspire guide: Orlando operation," tells terrorists to "avoid targeting places and crowds where minorities are generally found" because if gays or Latinos appear to be the targets, "the federal government will be the one taking full responsibility."

Orlando shooter was reported to FBI by gun shop.
Robbie Abell, owner of a Florida gun shop, says he alerted authorities that a suspicious man had come in asking about body armor. Five weeks later, [ShooterBoy] (ed.) – equipped with weapons he bought at a different shop after Abell's employees refused to sell to him – killed 49 people and injured as many at Pulse night club in Orlando.
UPDATE: Abell has since confirmed the agency he contact was the FBI.
The Wall Street Journal quotes Abell as telling them that his store, Lotus Gunworks of South Florida, "shut him down on all sales" after be began asking bizarre questions about body armor and bulk ammunition. "The questions he was asking were not the normal questions a normal person would be asking… He just seemed very odd," Abell said. The armor [ShooterBoy] asked about is not traditionally available to civilians.

New Disney kids movie trigger warning.
The sequel to the 2003 smash hit Finding Nemo has already fueled speculation that it will be the first Disney film to feature a lesbian couple, but Degeneres, who voices the titular blue fang fish, told USA Today in an interview that the film will feature a "trans sting."
"There's a stingray that's becoming sting-Rhonda, so there's a trans sting in the movie," DeGeneres said.

Gay people speak about Orlando: Pink Pistols
Some bars and other establishments that serve alcohol are difficult to protect because many states forbid the carrying of weapons where alcohol is served, but that just as one might have a designated driver who stays sober, one might have a designated carrier with a concealed-carry permit who goes armed and does not drink. "It's sad that we must consider such things, but when there are persons out there who mean us harm, we must find ways to protect ourselves within the law." Patton concludes.

Terrorism, Canadian vs. American response.
A GO bus was evacuated Saturday morning after a passenger said he had a bomb on board.
The bus, which was en route to Mississauga's Square One mall from Guelph, stopped along Highway 407 near Britannia Road after another passenger reported the man's suspicious behaviour to the driver.
Metrolinx spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins said the man was visibly agitated, and the bus driver immediately called police.
Ontario Provincial Police officers advised the driver to lock the doors of the bus and keep everyone inside until they could arrive.
Once police were on the scene, they negotiated with the suspect through the driver's cellphone...
