In (another) new study, vegans do not come out well.
Translation: Lower BMI = skinny, poorer quality of life and increased need for healthcare = weak, 50% increase in heart attacks and cancer = sickly.Vegetarians may have a lower BMI and drink alcohol sparingly, but vegetarian diets are tied to generally poorer health, poorer quality of life and a higher need for health care than their meat-eating counterparts.
...
Vegetarians were twice as likely to have allergies, a 50 percent increase in heart attacks and a 50 percent increase in incidences of cancer.
The cross-sectional study from Austrian Health Interview Survey data and published in PLos One examined participants dietary habits, demographic characteristics and general lifestyle differences.
The most significant dietary habit difference between meat-eaters and vegetarians concerned their BMI and alcohol consumption – with both being higher for those who consume meat.
In the blurb they didn't mention the other prominent features of veganism: B12 deficiency, really bad breath, rotten teeth and osteopenia. I guess they didn't want to irritate the Green Police.
Because why are vegans skinny weak and sickly? Because Humans are omnivores, and we NEED MEAT TO LIVE. If you don't get your meat, you're going to be frigged up. And no, I'm not going to add the inevitable weasel qualifiers this time. Veganism is a stupid, fucked-up idea sold by unscrupulous assholes to credulous teenage girls who have their growth stunted by it.This is not healthy, and even the Buddha says its stupid. |
Go forth and eat bacon. Mmmm, bacon.... |

Really nothing surprising, any study not bent to make vegan diets look good inevitably find they make people weaker.
Worry not Mamba, linkage is good. Maybe I'll even get some outraged vegan idiots in here to slap around. :)
