Location of US drone sites released. Not where you'd think they'd be.

Some of the locations are very interesting. Mostly due to where they are not flying.

There are at least 63 active drone sites around the U.S, federal authorities have been forced to reveal following a landmark Freedom of Information lawsuit.

The unmanned planes – some of which may have been designed to kill terror suspects – are being launched from locations in 20 states.

Most of the active drones are deployed from military installations, enforcement agencies and border patrol teams, according to the Federal Aviation Authority.

The map of site locations looks like the Red/Blue voting map, only in reverse. Expired licenses in Arizona and Southern California indicate no drones are currently being used there (legally, anyway) to monitor the southern border with Mexico. New Mexico and Texas have southern border sites listed as "active" but they are universities. Most of the sites are in the middle of the country or clustered around New York and Washington DC.

In fact, according to the Google Maps site, the only active Border Patrol drone site is in North Dakota, next to Winnipeg Manitoba. Apparently Canada needs watching more than the Mexican drug cartels. Which is interesting, to say the least.

  1. Yup it’s getting scary. Gotta keep an eye on that Bible Belt there may be some domestic terrorist selling raw milk.

It’s a good thing the Nobel Peace Prize winner signed the National Defence Authorization act into law to suspend Habeas Corpus & the Posse Comitatus Act for American citizens in case they are deemed enemies of the state. Of course no Due Process along with the indefinite detentions will make it so much easier to enforce and keep everyone safe.

  2. Off topic repost of an SDA post

Relevence = My world is changing and I'm getting pissed off:

    True Story:

Just a few minutes ago I saw a couple of "disenfranchised youth" hiding in the forest of trees in my back yard. I was going to get my gun and site them in like Vietnam ( they really looked like Viet Cong) but then saw the yellow strip of backup RCMP walking past them deeper in the bush (obviously searching).

So I then went out and yelled at them to “get the f*ck off my property” and several RCMP recon backup rushed in for the arrest. Not sure what they did to be hiding there, but I just came indoors and back to blogging. What the hell has happened to my Alberta?

No knocks on the door so I guess it’s all under control.

  3. Same thing happened to me a couple years ago in Ancaster, rich suburb with big houses where nothing ever happens. Some kid blasted out of his skull on something trying to get in my patio door.

Called 911 instead of busting his head for him. Hardest phone call I ever made, the Louisville Slugger was begging me from its corner.

Waited ten minutes, during which he wandered off, cops finally show. Nailed him two doors down doing the same thing.

    They drove him home.

I asked the cop why. The guy says "Well, he woke you up and pissed you off, so we're going to wake up his mummy and daddy and piss -them- off."

On balance it seemed fair enough.
