Apropos of 9/11 memorials...

... here's why there aren't any yet. Paul Krugman thinks that:
Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
So naturally any decent monument to the dead would be a rallying point for Republicans, and the Krugmans of the world can't have that. Therefore, there are no monuments, ten years later.

But there is a Tea Party. So perhaps by 2021 there will finally be a decent monument to the dead.

And Paul Krugman will be reduced to posting anonymously on some obscure blog while The Phantom will post under my real name. Could happen.

  1. Like I pointed out on SDA:

At the end of his article, Krugman says: "I'm not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons."

The obvious reason being, of course, that he's a coward.

  2. No, its just that he's not interested in what we have to say. He's only interested in telling us how his version of history is going to go.

Government propaganda is a one way thing, dude. They're not encouraging an interactive experience here, know what I mean? Do what you're told and shut up, before something bad might happen to ya.

  3. Krugman is just another lefty moron humping a keyboard. The Slimes is obviously selling to the retard demographic, and getting mad at retards is a waste of time. Maybe the idiot will write for Rabble.ca when The Slimes folds.

I think you're both right; the comments were disabled to prevent the inevitable chit storm of rage it would have generated - and those lefty f-nozzles don't want to know what their readership thinks. That one can only end one way.

I now have a simmering, festering cold fury and outright hatred when it comes to the media. I won't spend a penny on those rag sheets anymore and would encourage everyone else to do the same.

  4. Personally, I haven't bought a newspaper in years. Never read them except for the odd outrage like this one. Don't have television. Don't listen to radio. Have Sirius sat-radio and the web, plus mp3s on shuffle.

If I want to know what's going on I look at Drudge.

Keeps my blood pressure down. :)
